The West Jordan Arts Council promotes programs and activities that encourage the advancement of art and cultural events and activities in the community. The Arts Council meets the first Thursday of each month in room 331 at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. Up to 13 voting members are appointed by City Council to three-year terms. Appointed Members Alena Balmforth Jennifer Crabb, Secretary/Treasurer, Theater Arts Jennifer Fisher, chair Heidi Johnson, Youth Theatre Todd Kindred, Mountain West Chorale Kevin Martindale, vice chair John Pulver Larry White, West Jordan Symphony Jessica Wollschleger  | Visual Arts The Visual Arts provides ongoing exhibits in the Schorr Gallery located on the third floor of City Hall. The Schorr Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | West Jordan Theater Arts The West Jordan Theater Arts provide one major musical and three plays each year. For more information regarding the West Jordan Theater Arts, go to sugarfactoryplayhouse.com Literary Arts The Literary Arts provides writing contests, workshops and readings. West Jordan City Band The City Band performs a Christmas concert, a spring concert, a fall concert and entertainment in the park and parade during the Fourth of July Independence Day Festival. They rehearse each Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall. Everyone is welcome to participate. Mountain West Chorale The Mountain West Chorale provides group musical performances during the year. They also provide music during the December Christmas program and a fall choir festival. | The Mountain West Chorale performed during the Military Services Monument dedication, July 4, 2006. | West Jordan Symphony The West Jordan Symphony performs spring, fall and Christmas concerts. They also perform as part of the Messiah Sing-A-Long each December. The Symphony rehearses on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at City Hall. Everyone is welcome to participate.
