All dogs and cats must be licensed each year to a person 18 years of age or older. The license needs to be obtained within 30 days of the dog or cat reaching the age of four months, within 30 days of owning the dog or cat, or within 30 days after moving to the City. Proof of current rabies vaccination by a licensed veterinarian and proof of spay or neuter (if applicable) is required. The first time you license your pet you will need to apply in person. After that, you may renew by mail by sending payment to the City. Pet License Application Yearly Fees $8 Neutered/Spayed $30 Non/Neutered/Spayed A person 60 years of age or older, upon proof of age, may obtain a license for an annual fee of: $8 Non/Neutered/Spayed Or a one time fee of: $10 Neutered/Spayed A resident that qualifies for the one-time fee must still obtain an animal license tag each year, and can do so without payment. Each residential address is limited to four dogs and a reasonable number of cats. The tag must be worn at all times on collar or harness. Replacement tags for lost or destroyed tags can be obtained for $1.00. No refunds shall be made on any license fee for any reason. Renewals are sent out by January 15th every year, and new licenses need to be obtained by the last day of February that same year. If the license fee is not paid within the time period specified, an additional late fee of $15.00 will be charged.
