The mission of the Parks Division is to maintain quality parks, trails and an open space system that provides excellent recreational opportunities, inviting community gathering places and aesthetically pleasing green space.

Park Projects
The Parks Department is currently working on a number of park projects, including playground replacements and new pavilions. Below is a list of projects that are underway. More projects are planned and budgeted, and will be added to the list as they are bid.

Youth Soccer Complex
No adult play is allowed at the Youth Sports Complex located at 7965 S. 4000 West. Reservations are required for all use. Email Ashleigh O'Connor for reservations or call 801-569-5729.

The splash pad at Ron Wood Park opened Memorial Day weekend. Hours of operation will be Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m. through Labor Day. The Ron Wood Park is located at 5900 W. New Bingham Highway, just off 9000 South. The splash pad is on a timer, but can be manually turned on be stepping on the button in the northwest corner. The splash pad and Ron Wood Park Pavilions are NOT available to rent.

Tree City USA Award

West Jordan was recently named a 2015 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management.
