The West Jordan Fire Department enters 2008 with four stations and 82 firefighters who are supported by three administrative assistants. Our fire response vehicles include: - One 2006 Pierce ladder truck which utilizes a 105’ aerial ladder capable of delivering 2,000 gallons of water per minute (gpm) with a 500 gallon water tank.
One 1993 Pierce TeleSquirt pumper has a 50’ aerial ladder, can pump at 1,500 gpm with a 500 gallon water tank. Two 2001 Pierce Lance transport engines with 1,500 gpm pumping capability, 500 gallon water tanks and several ground ladders reaching up to 24’. Two four-wheel-drive Ford F350 grass trucks (1992, 1994) with 300 gallon tanks, and a 1983 GMC 1-ton with a 250 gallon tank. Each has 125 -160 gpm pump capability. One 1989 Pierce pumper with a 1,500 gpm pump and 750 gallon tank as a reserve engine. One 1977 E-One pumper (rebuilt in 1992) with a 1,500 gpm pump and 500 gallon tank as a training engine. We also utilize several ambulances, a heavy rescue/command center, a haz/mat/utility and several support vehicles.
