Competing to be a Firefighter
In order to be competitive in the firefighter testing process, you need to obtain both fire and medical training. The Utah Fire Rescue Academy at Utah Valley University offers fire and hazardous materials training and certifications. Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic training is also available through the Academy, as well as at area medical training schools. With the growth of our paramedic program, those with a Utah Paramedic Certification and firefighting certifications and experience will be the most sought after.
