We encourage neighbors to talk to one another first and seek a resolution before involving the city or police and formalizing the process. When direct requests do not work or are not possible, contact Code Enforcement for advice. Some issues can be resolved easily with a few contacts from officers. Other issues may take more time or require formal letters, notices, and lengthy legal processes. First – Talk to your neighbor or the property owner and ask for cooperation. You can explain your concerns for the health, safety and your right to the enjoyment of your property free from nuisances. Even offer to help resolve or correct the problem. Next – If your "Good Neighbor" effort fails or you cannot locate the property owner, call us. If we cannot take care of your problem, we will refer you to the appropriate agency.
